There is always the possibility of something going wrong when we travel. The airline could cancel our flight; the waiter at a restaurant may bring us the wrong order; but if anything like this happens it’s not really a big deal. We can usually fix it ourselves. However, the same thing can’t be said about having a dental emergency while we are on vacation. If you are thousands of miles from home and you break a tooth or have severe pain, it’s not something you can fix on your own. And what if you are in a country where you don’t speak the language? Because all of us at Hitomi Dental Office speak English, we tend to get many patients just like Barbara from England pictured here. The temporary filling that Barbara’s dentist in London had set came out and she called her travel agency for help. Her travel agent found Hitomi Dental Office on the internet and directed Barbara to our Akasaka Office. Since Barbara’s dentist back home had a permanent crown waiting for her on her return we needed to reset her filling without changing the shape of her tooth that the crown had been sized for. Although a little challenging, I think we were successful and we look forward to hearing from Barbara when she gets home.
